| On
Friday, October 16, 2009, the Golden Bear Touchdown
Club honored the 1969 State Champion Upper Arlington
High School football team with a reception and
a recognition ceremony at halftime during the
Golden Bears' game against Olentangy Orange at
Marv Moorehead Stadium.
In
honor of their 40 -year anniversary, the Touchdown
Club brought the players together to celebrate
a rare accomplishment. This talented team, led
by the late Coach Marv Moorehead, captured
three consecutive state titles in 1967, 1968,
and 1969. Their former assistant coaches, Pete
Corey and Phil Koppel, joined the
players at the pre-game reception and at halftime,
when the 1969 Golden Bear State Champs walked
onto the field to applause for their achievements
forty years ago.
The
mission of The Golden Bear Touchdown Club, a
501C (3) group consisting of UAHS alumni, past,
present and future parents of players, as well
as fans of the Golden Bears, is to foster a
sense of community and school spirit that inspires
the citizens of Upper Arlington to enthusiastically
support the UAHS football program.

public meeting on June 2 at UAHS, President Kirk
Herbstreit and Vice-President John Epitropoulos
